Vijay Kumar Basavarajaiah a.k.a Sanchaari Vijay

From a job at a hotel in Bangalore, where he washed utensils to winning National Film Award for Best Actor, Sanchari Vijay's life was an epitome of simplicity and kindness.

He was a star in theaters and a servant to people who needed help. Now that he is gone, Sandalwood and the people of Karnataka mourn for losing such a good soul. His mother was a nurse and his father was a musician. He lost both of his parents when he was a teenager, and burnt midnight oil to help fund his brother's education.

He continued to work in theatres while also appearing on television in soap operas. "In fact, my friends would recognize my acting talents even when I was studying," he recalls.

His Career as an Actor

Vijay made his cinematic debut in 2011 with Rangappa Hogbitna, a Kannada film. Then he appeared in "Rama Rama Raghu Rama" in a minor role. But it was his performance as a handicapped kid in "Dasavala" that earned him instant fame.

"ನಾನು ಅವನಲ್ಲ... ಅವಳು" (I am not He, I am a She). This film was crucial in propelling his career forward. In 2014, he won the National Film Award for Best Actor. He performed the part of a transgender person in a stereotypical capacity. After M. V. Vasudeva Rao and Charuhasan, Vijay became the third actor to receive the National Award for Best Actor in a Kannada Film.

When he heard a call for help, his heart leaped. Actor Jaggesh's remark revealed a different side to his public persona. Vijay had skipped paying his car's EMI and instead spent the money on helping people during lockdowns, according to him. Actor Rangayana Raghu remarked, "I was pleased to see him achieve this renown and recognition," adding, "He constantly questioned life and God in life." During floods in Kodagu District, he was also seen in action.

The Incident

On the 13th of June, while riding on a bike, he was involved in an accident. The actor was a pillion on the motorcycle when it slid off the road and collided with an electric pole. When the accident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. near L&T South City, JP Nagar 7th phase, his buddy Naveen was riding the two-wheeler. Vijay didn't have a helmet on.

Vijay was taken to Apollo hospital, where he had been badly bleeding. The medics responding to him discovered that he had suffered significant head injuries after a preliminary examination. However, even after an emergency operation to repair a brain bleed, the actor's condition remained serious.

He was declared brain dead on June 14th, and his family agreed to donate organs. His body was kept at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru the next day from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. such that people may pay their respects. His mortal remains were then transported to his birthplace of Panchanahalli in Kadur Taluk, where he was put to rest with full state honors.

Throughout his 25-film career, he made a determined effort to create a name for himself in fully commercial films. In 6ne Maili (2018) and Gentleman, he nailed the part of a cop (2019). As a visually challenged person at Krishna Tulasi, he gave his finest performance (2018). This demonstrated that he excelled at portraying complicated people.
